Epes E. Ellery letter book : ms, 1853-1863.

Two hundred-four pages of entries, containing business letters of Ellery and his first Calif. employer, Charles Wooley, a news dealer and new book seller. Most of the letters concern orders for periodicals and similar materials. The letter book spans Ellery's employment with Wooley (1853-1854), his partnership with Augustus Doyle under the firm name of Ellery & Doyle beginning in 1854, and his business after he purchased Doyle's interest in 1856.
